Spiritual Direction
Spiritual Direction is a confidential conversation with another whom we trust about the ongoing experience of God in our lives.
In the Ignatian tradition, it is a 'companioning' rather than a 'directing', for God is always the real director who speaks personally with each person on their journey.
In Ignatian Spiritual Direction we seek to find God in the ordinary parts of our everyday lives.
We explore the God who is intimately present and acting within the ongoing relations and changing situations of every human life. This is the God wonderfully revealed to us in the humanity of Jesus of Nazareth.
A skilled and qualified spiritual director works one-to-one with an individual, offering a safe place of acceptance, supporting the person to recognise, pay attention and respond to God’s loving invitation to grow in intimacy with God and God’s community.
